Xicon: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
A deafening whirring drowns the sound of the world
as it grows louder.
Torrential rain falls as Fear leashes its palls,
and a mother and lover are given hope.
The whirring ceases and the water drains,
the sounds of the earth once more heard.
A lost age stands before them.
A lost age, a new age, ages that never were or will be,
all in one before them.
Out steps he, the one they dread to see,
and not she, the one with whome they wish to be.
In that fleeting moment outside of time,
the hope that eased their minds vanishes.
As he steps out the way the hope returns,
as there stands she in ripping form.
Their smiles broaden (but not challenging his).
Their arms outstretch (but not welcoming as his).
In this fleeting moment outside of time,
the hope that eased their minds is eternal.
But what of he who brought her home
to take her away again?
What of he who knows the sting of
friend's, and family's end?
How in conscience good would he think he could
do the same to them?
Was it worth it to never be alone:
lost in time and lost in space
