What Are You Reading?

Re-starting this thread, but putting a bit of a twist on it. Not only do I want to know what you're currently reading, but I would LOVE a mini-review, or at least to know if you'd recommend whatever you happen to be reading to others. I'm always looking for new books to read. Currently, I'm trying to get my hands on House of Leaves, but it's more difficult now that Borders has closed and there aren't many local bookstores, (I know I could get it online, but I want to buy and read it right away).

Re: What Are You Reading?

Still working on my Lovecraft compilation... I wonder if I'll ever get to finish that.

But if internet literature counts, I'm always happy to throw in a plug for OH GOD THE RAPTURE IS BURNING.

Definitely going to to have to read that after Azog's reactions to it.

Re: What Are You Reading?

Oh, it's amazing. You might want to start with Eccentrically Bored/Hidden in the Trees, so you at least have a feel for the Fear Mythos.

But then again, Dooling wrote the Rapture Logs so someone with no background knowledge would still enjoy it.

OH GOD THE RAPTURE IS BURNING.

Ummmmmm that's it.
All I can remember after I closed my eyes, was that first, it got real loud; then, it got real hot; then it got real slimy; then it got quiet; then it got.... unspeakable. And when I opened my eyes, the pool was empty, and three days had passed.

Re: What Are You Reading?

Thanks to Messer and Azog, I am now reading Hidden in the Trees

It's recommended that, before you delve into Hidden in the Trees, you read Eccentrically Bored first.

Re: What Are You Reading?

Recently finished The Zombie Survival Guide, which I recommend highly to anyone who hasn't read it yet.

Re-read Batman: The Dark Knight Returns twice.

Found a copy of World War Z at Wal-Mart, miraculously, and I've started it. Just got through the intro and first chapter though, but I'm already pretty hooked.

Re: What Are You Reading?

Just for the full-color edition of House of Leaves yesterday after ordering it with standard shipping on Wednesday night. Very fast for Amazon.com. Anyways, will probably start reading it tonight and I can't wait!! After that, I have a TON of books in my Kindle, but I want to start reading The Hunger Games.

Re: What Are You Reading?

Still trucking through House of Leaves, then I've got to read The Stranger for class. Once I'm done with those, however, it's back to A Song of Ice and Fire with A Storm of Swords.

Re: What Are You Reading?

I am reading Content by Cory Doctorow. I am only in a few pages and I like it. I would suggest you go to his website http://craphound.com/ he puts most of his books on it. I would suggest reading little Brother first.

Halo: First Strike. Even if you don't like the Halo games, the fiction behind them and the universe is pretty great.

Also am reading The Divine Comedy and re-reading the Harry Potter books for no reason.
